It all started in 1947 when my Dad bought a 4" Craftsman jointer. He already had a home-made table saw and carpenter tools, and then my Grandfather gave me a small hand saw from his tool chest that he had brought with him from Germany. These were the tools that sparked my interest in woodworking.

I made a safety push block for the jointer and I was off and running. Over the years the projects went from doll cribs for my daughters to furniture for our home. I struggled with making perfect mortise-tenon and dovetail joints. I bought jigs and joint makers, but nothing worked well enough for me. Then I started making my own jigs and fixtures and finally my own cast iron machines that really do the job.

Being trained as a wood patternmaker it was easy to make the necessary pattern equipment, get the castings made and machine them. Prototypes were made and finally, the machines you see today. The machines are efficient and will cut mortise-tenon and dovetailing procedures down to seconds.
